Amsterdam ranks 8th on Globe Shopper City Index

Amsterdam has been ranked 8th on the Globe Shopper City Index, a gauge compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit for Global Blue.

According to The Globe Shopper City Index, created by the Economist Intelligence Unit, easygoing Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most-visited cities. The city boasts UNESCO sites, Golden Age art, scenic canals and interesting cafés. Advantages: The city ranks in the top 5 for shopping prices and ranks 8th in the index overall. Challenges: Dining, hotels and public transport rank in the bottom 10 for cost-effective pricing.

Amsterdam was among 33 European cities ranked on the list. London led the ranking, followed by Madrid and Barcelona. The City Index poll ranked cities on 22 different criteria including pricing and availability.
