Dutch companies top global sustainability rankings
Four Dutch corporations are the most sustainable companies in their sector according to the latest Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). AkzoNobel (Chemicals), Unilever (Food & Beverage), Philips (Personal & Household Goods) and AirFrance-KLM (Travel & Leisure), have shown the best sustainability performance among their industry peers in 2012.
Unilever is a consistent sustainability leader being named sector leader for 14 consecutive years. Air France-KLM has topped its sector for the past eight years. AkzoNobel improved on last year’s second place and has ranked in the top three continually since 2007. Philips received the status as super sector leader for the second year in a row.
Regarded as one of the world’s most foremost sustainability indices, the DJSI World Index benchmarks the sustainability performance of the world’s 2,500 largest companies from 58 sectors based on environmental, social and economic performance, including forward-looking indicators.
