Dutch economic situation further improves
The economic situation at the end of December is better than at the end of November according to figures released by Statistic Netherlands. The economic indicators showed more improvement than deterioration.
The heart of the scatter in the Business Cycle Tracer is located in the recovery stage, but thirteen of the fifteen indicators are still performing below their long-term average.
In the course of December, new data have become available for all indicators except vacancies and temp jobs. As a result of this new information, the distribution of the indicators between and within the quadrants has changed. The capital market rate moves back from the orange into the green quadrant after having moved in the opposite direction last month. This indicator is improving and currently performing above its long-term average.
At the end of December, the heart of the scatter in the Tracer is located in the recovery stage. Seven of the fifteen indicators are in the yellow quadrant, six are in the red quadrant and two are in the green quadrant. The growth rate of indicators in the red quadrant is below their long-term average and slowing down. The growth rate of indicators in the yellow quadrant is also below their long-term average, but increasing. The growth rate of the indicators in the green quadrant is above their long-term average and increasing. The growth rate of indicators located in the orange quadrant is also above their long-term average, but slowing down.
