Fashiolista launches in New York City during New York Fashion Week
Fashiolista, the fastest growing social media community for fashion lovers, is hosting the first Fashion Week World Tour event in New York City. Fashiolista was founded in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 2010. It is an online community powered by users with a passion for fashion. The event is to celebrate and meet the Fashiolista members in the New York City area who are helping Fashiolista grow every day by sharing their top trend and style ‘likes’ through the website.
Fashiolista is also bringing four top international fashion bloggers to share their personal styles with the New York City Fashiolista members: Andy Torres from Style Scrapbook (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad (Milan, Italy), Kristina Bazan from Kayture (Geneva, Switzerland) and Zina Ch from Fashionvibe (Barcelona, Spain). Adding to the party is top up-and-coming talent, MoXiie and Ariana and the Rose, who will be performing for the guests throughout the night.
With an audience reach of more than two million women a month, the Fashiolista members express their style by ‘loving’ items more than 9 million times a month. Fashiolista is experiencing fast growth in membership in the United States, and as New York City is one of the top trendsetting and trend spotting cities in the world Fashiolista will open their first office in New York City during New York Fashion Week.
“We are excited to be taking the next step from a small tech start-up in Holland to opening our first office in New York City,” mentions Joost Nauta, co-founder and CEO of Fashiolista. “Fashiolista is an online platform serving as inspiration for people around the world to help discover new fashionable items, stores and designers. Being in New York City will help us reach out to a larger community of fashion followers.”
Every item on Fashiolista is handpicked by members. Once the special Fashiolista heart-shaped ‘love’ button is installed in the website browser, members only need to click on their favorite fashion finds from anywhere on the web. By clicking the ‘love’ button, the item is instantly saved to their Fashiolista profile. Members can follow other members anywhere around the world to see what items are trendy and fashionable in different countries; more than 4.5 million items have already been added to Fashiolista.
