First real bee hotel
The Central Station in the Dutch city Leiden will have the first real bee hotel.
With the bee hotel, Dutch Nature and Environment Foundation with ProRail will battle the bee deaths. In the bee hotel, the wild bee will find a safe shelter to procreate. It is also an ideal starting point for young bees to enter the world.
With the disappearance of many flowers, it has been in increasingly difficult to survive. According to the foundation the rail area is an ideal home for the bees. This area has unique and often several wild flora.
With 6500 km track ProRail is one of the largest nature conservationists in the Netherlands.
The hotel will open on Saturday during the “Day of Biodiversity”.
