Netherlands beats Uruguay 3-2 and is in the World Cup final 2010

The Netherlands beats Uruguay 3-2 and is in the World Cup final 2010 this Sunday.

The Dutch team has managed for the first time in 32 years to qualify for the World Cup finals. The team of football coach Bert van Marwijk defeated Uruguay in the semifinals of the World Cup in South Africa, 3-2.

Dutch stars Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben scored three minutes apart in the second half as the Netherlands beat Uruguay 3-2 Tuesday night to advance to their first championship match.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst scored for the Netherlands the first goal. Diego Forlan scored for Uruguay.

Van Marwijk with his Orange team is now only one step away from the successful mission, world champion!
The Dutch national team can write history at Soccer City Stadium with its enormous capacity of over 90,000 on Sunday at 20.30.

Winners of all six games in South Africa, the Dutch team will face Spain at the World Cup Final on Sunday at Soccer City in Johannesburg.

The Netherlands can be the first country in history to win the trophy that did not organize the football World Cup itself.

Brazil and Argentina are the only teams to have won the trophy on a foreign continent with Brazil successful in Sweden in 1958, Mexico 1970, the United States in 1994 and Japan in 2002, while Argentina won in Mexico in 1986.

A European victory in Sunday’s final at Soccer City, Johannesburg, means they will have 10 World Cup successes, one more than South America.

With the 3-2 victory over Uruguay The Dutch team will play for the third time in history in the World Cup final. Twice the Netherlands was beaten in the finals. In 1974 the Dutch national team lost 2-1 to West Germany. Four years later, Argentina won from the Netherlands, 3-1.

The tournament was first contested in 1930.

The 4 referee really helped the Dutch team by giving only 3 minutes of injury time!

After the latest delays in the match there should be given at least 5 minutes.

This was a common practice in the previous games, especially for the African teams.

The only reason for which the Oranje made it to the Finals was a combination of pure luck and of a good coach!!

The Dutch players do not compete with the high standards of the German and the Spanish players and the Finals will be surely a real tragedy for the Orange!!

Uruguay did not deserve to be in the semi-finals & Netherlands played excellent, they should have scored at least 5 goals against Uruguay, The Netherlands had more ball position & missed a few opportunities to score more than 3 goals, they just need to be confident & they will win the world cup.
