Netherlands best behaved country in EU

The Netherlands is among the best behaved EU countries when it comes to implementing EU laws. The Netherlands was condemned only three times by the European Court of Justice in 2009.

“That is very, very few”said a spokesman for the Court Thursday for the presentation of the figures. Only Denmark has exceeded our country with only one conviction. By contrast, Greece was convicted 22 times.

Also over a period of five years The Netherlands scores as a second best, after Denmark. The Netherlands was only convicted fourteen times for breaching EU laws. The worst country is Italy, with 72 convictions in five years.

The European Court handles cases from the European Commission against the EU countries. It also deals with cases against the EU institutions, and companies or citizens believe that EU rules are not applied.

So NL is SECOND best after Denmark according to the article body? This is either misleading or confusing.
