One Flu Shot is Enough

A single influenza vaccination is sufficient to protect against the Mexican flu. This is announced by the Australian manufacturer of influenza vaccines, CSL. Of 240 people vaccinated, 95 percent was sufficiently protected after vaccination, according to CSL.

The Swiss and Chinese manufacturers have a vaccination that would provide adequate protection against the H1N1 virus. Because the Mexican is a new flu virus, was previously thought that two vaccinations are necessary. The H1N1-addition to the annual flu vaccination is given.

Many countries, including the Netherlands, are starting next month with a large-scale vaccination. When it gets colder, people are more susceptible to the flu. China has indicated that possibly tens of millions of inhabitants of that country will become infected. Deaths are “inevitable” according to the Chinese Ministry of Health.
