Rupert Murdoch Buys Dutch Eredivisie Live Broadcast Rights

Rupert Murdoch’s FOX has bought the broadcasting rights to the Dutch Eredivisie Premier soccer league, according to De Telegraaf.

The clubs from the Premier League of professional football have sold the broadcasting rights for the next 12 years to the U.S. television network Fox from media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Murdoch’s U.S. television network Fox, will shell out more than €1 billion for the rights of the Dutch Eredivisie soccer league starting 2013-2014.

The deal is the largest in the history of Dutch football, according to De Telegraaf and was closed in secret last week in London.

Murdoch bought under the name Sky the rights of the German Bundesliga earlier this year.
