Sir Richard Branson visits the Netherlands
The British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, best known for his Virgin Group of over 360 companies, tours through the Netherlands this week.
He will attend a conference in The Hague about space tourism. Afterwards he will go to Rotterdam.
Branson will receive a prize in The Hague of the International Space Transport Association (ISTA). This is a Dutch-based organization that aims to promote commercial space tourism.
Branson offers space flights with his company Virgin Galactic. The Briton claims to have sold several hundred tickets for future space tourists. Customer can enjoy two hours in space for 145,000 euros each. The first flight must be made within a few years.
Branson will tour Rotterdam in a special way. Branson will enjoy a ride with the Superbus of astronaut Wubbo Ockels and TU Delft from the airport to theater De Doelen in Rotterdam.
