Den Bosch offers a wide range of shopping in its …

Den Bosch offers a wide range of shopping in its medieval alleys and picturesque historic squares.

The city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, or Den Bosch as it is called by the locals, was founded in 1185 and literally means ‘the duke’s forest’ – a reference to the medieval castle and woodland that dominated this charming little town back then. Now the capital of the province Noord Brabant, it still has an ancient feel. The late-gothic Sint-Jan Cathedral, the city hall and Den Bosch’s oldest brick house, the Moriaan, all remind you of days long as past.

The Market Square in Den Bosch is always full of life and has been so throughout the ages. Back in the medieval days it was the biggest public space within the city walls and a place where festivals and events where held. And it is the place where most of the cafes andrestaurants are situated.

Shopping
Cozy shopping in ‘s-Hertogenbosch! With its old, small streets and complete offer of boutiques, specialist shops, antique dealers, gift shops and interior design specialists, you will never forget your day out in ‘s-Hertogenbosch!

Many lovely boutiques are scattered over the city centre, often in cozy side streets. The major shopping streets in ‘s-Hertogenbosch are: Hooge Steenweg, Hinthammerstraat and Vughterstraat.

Festivals
Den Bosch has been voted Culinary Capital of Holland for 2010 and many events and activities are being organised around this with as highlight the Week of Taste that runs from 19 – 26 September. During this week you can taste the delicious dishes and product of the region.

The Internet company Google is going to expand Google street …

The Internet company Google is going to expand Google street view coverage for the Netherlands significantly.

Dutch Residents of The Hague, Utrecht and Eindhoven will be able to see their home on Google Street View soon.

With Street View users can see street level details on Google maps. The company has photographed almost all streets in and around thirty cities in the Netherlands.

The photos can be viewed by dragging a yellow icon on google map and look around.

In March, Google launched Street View, in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Groningen. Now also Utrecht, Den Haag, Eindhoven, Den Bosch, Tilburg and Leeuwarden will be included. The Randstad is almost fully covered.

Of the 21 Dutch cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, only Enschede and Maastricht are available at the moment.

The amazing 114 pounds tricycle from Google is limited to visit only a number of places, because it’s taking a lot of time to shoot good photos. Earlier this year a number of major tourist attractions such as the Efteling and Slagharen were captured.

These photos are not yet processed yet and only the windmills at Kinderdijk and Parliament Buildings are viewable on Street View at the moment.
