]]> Dutch Singer Esmee Denters is the winner of the MTV Europe Music Award for best Dutch and Belgian newcomer. She won from Alain Clark, Milo, Fedde Le Grand and The Black Box Revelation.

Denters will now compete with 21 other winners of the MTV channels in Europe to be nominated for Best European Act in 2009.

The MTV Europe Music Awards will be broadcast live from the O2 World in Berlin on Thursday, November 5. Denters became known for her voice on YouTube and was noticed by Justin Timberlake. The MTV spokeswoman said she was now grown up, a world star in the making”. Previously, she won two TMF Awards. Esmee Denters is currently touring in America.

Starting Monday, MTV viewers can vote for their favorite “regional” winners via www.mtvema.com. The five acts with the most votes will be nominated for Best European Act category. These nominations are announced on Monday, November 2 and the eventual winner, who is elected by the MTV audience, will performe live during the TV gala.
