VOGUE magazine launches in the Netherlands
The Netherlands finally gets its own edition of VOGUE magazine, edited by the current editor of Dutch Glamour, Karin Swerink.
The issue arrives after speculation last year, in which Conde Nast chairman Jonathan Newhouse said, “The Netherlands is a thriving market in the heart of Western Europe with a growing hunger for luxury. It is natural for Vogue.”
Published by Dutch division of printing firm Gruner & Jahr, Vogue Netherlands is the fashion bible’s 19th edition, joining Spain, Australia, India, Germany, China, Italy, Japan, France, the UK, Russia, Brazil, Greece, Turkey, Korea, Taiwan, Portugal, Mexico and Latin America and the most important one of all, the U.S.
Swerink’s first issue as editor-in-chief features models Ymre Stiekema, Josefien Rodermans and Romee Strijd on the cover, smiling wide in bright spring dresses. The headline reads, “Number One In The Netherlands.”
